Why Is Justin Bieber a Hot Pop Star?
Justin Bieber is a Canadian pop singer-rapper. He was found by American record company executive Scooter Braun in 2008 and signed to RBMG Records soon after the release of his first single, My World. After the success of My World, Justin Bieber went on to release several singles including Baby, Thank You, and I am a Celebrity. Justin’s career has since flourished into one of the biggest celebrity fads of the decade.
Justin Bieber’s career has not only peaked the entertainment industry but has also influenced pop culture in many ways. One of the biggest examples of this is his appearance on the hit television show, The Price is Right. On the show, Justin Bieber brought his talents to the forefront when he was able to bring down the price of his car for an incorrect price. The clip that he appears in, along with the subsequent viral video, went on to become one of the most watched videos of all time on YouTube. As a result of this, his career was promoted to the next level, with the creation of the very successful Justine Bieber video clip.
Two months later, Justin Bieber was able to break the Hot 100 chart for the first time, with Baby by Hozier. Through the remainder of the year, however, he would just keep breaking the Hot 100, with Believe and Love, and Then Again, and Everything, respectively. With the clip for the song, Baby, Justin Bieber made history with the second highest position on the chart, passing Justin Timberlake’s reign for the title of the highest-charting song in the history of the Hot 100. Justin Bieber then took his game to a whole new level as he was featured on the hit song Can’t Keep Up, which was produced by major record label Def Jam.
With Believe and Love, Bieber created yet another hit single, as Doo-Wop. Though the single failed to capture the same amount of audiences as Baby and Justine Bieber, it did manage to score a number 1 record, which makes it the third biggest single of the year. After the success of these two singles, Bieber moved into the limelight with a massive net worth, having sold five albums within the course of two months. His first album, called Baby, went straight to number one in the U.K., where it remained for three weeks. A month later, Believe was released, selling more copies than expected, and Bieber played a string of shows around the UK and Europe. His second album, Always knew, was also a huge hit and achieved similar success.
After the success of Justine, Bieber decided to move forward with his next solo effort, entitled Baby. Although the record failed to chart well, it was not to hinder his path to stardom, as Baby topped the U.K. album charts in just two weeks. Two months after that, Bieber turned heads once again, as he was named the singer/songwriter for the remake of Disney’s Mulan, which went number one in the U.K., going above Justin Timberlake and Kanye West. The follow-up to Baby was titled Believe and proved to be yet another massive hit, making Bieber the third musician ever to sell five albums in a single calendar year.
So, how did this young pop star just blossom into a pop star overnight? Well, the answer lies in his incredible social media presence, which was exponentially increased after the release of Believe. Through Instagram, he was able to connect directly with his audience, allowing fans to upload pictures from their concerts, and the concerts themselves. He also has a dedicated YouTube channel, which allows him to showcase the songs that have been paid to him, as well as those that he has created. Finally, Bieber has an online store where fans can purchase tickets, posters, and even custom merchandise. All of which further fuels the theory that Justin Bieber is an instant success!
